About Great Himalaya Trail 20 day (4th step)
This is the 4th part of the Great Himalayan Trail. This trekking journey is 20 days long which makes it a peaceful shift in the great Himalayan trail. In this part, you will be trekking through most of the Ganesh Himal and Manaslu region. This shift will take you through the trail which used to be the ancient trading route between Nepal and Tibet. penetrated deep into the Deep Himalayas, coniferous forest and amidst the charming traditional villages, this trail has an absolute treat for the people trekking in Nepal.
The trail passes through great mountain passes and among the many passes Larkya La pass (5161m) is the famous one and challenging pass to cross. Likewise, along the trail, you will also get to see the many Chortens and Gumbas which symbolizes the Buddhist religion. These Gumbas and Chortens are made up of stones that have been present for ages. Hence, they are really important things to observe while on the trek. Besides these religious monuments, you will get to see the monasteries based in this trekking region. Furthermore, the lifestyle of the people living in this region itself is also amazing. Most importantly do not forget to check the traditional ways that the locals make the clothes and the water mills built on the small but rapidly flowing streams. On the trail, you will get to have a close encounter with one of the major ethnic groups of Nepal i.e Tamang community. Tamang’s are profoundly known for their idealistic culture, dances, language, costumes, and music.
And the best part of the journey is that you get to see the breathtaking views of the Mount Manaslu (8,163 m), Ganesh Himal (7,422 m), Buddha Himal (6692m) and Himlung Himal, Nemjung, Kang Guru, Cheo Himal, Annapurna II, and Gyaji Kang. Other than the best views of the mountains of Nepal, if lucky you might also get to see some of the rare and endangered animals like Tahr (Himalayan Mountain Goat), Pika; the only mammal which lives at the height of 6000m and above, Agali (Blue Sheep), Himalayan Marmots and Snow Leopard.
